Weekend Instagram!

after the craziness of a busy school week, hubby took me out for some pampering in the form of treats and shopping with my loves--perfect end to the weekend!

The only macarons to make it home. A pumpkin, rose water, and creme brulee, amazing!

and after a nice family movie night--I am feeling refreshed and looking forward to week OFF from school! I can't wait to do some simple things like 1. actual sleep at night and 2. actually sleep again. oh and maybe some grocery shopping without having to rush back home!

Boy, I hadn't missed the "college days"/sleepless nights at all. :)

Breast Cancer Benefit!

"For it is in giving that we receive. "

So this weekend we helped with a Breast Cancer Benefit fundraiser and I just wanted to share some quick pics and thoughts! There was such a great turn out and it felt amazing to be a involved and to be a part in it all!

I baked dozens upon dozens of baked goods to sell and an amazing group of guys--and their amazing significant others--set up a toy truck/car races. Everyone that participated paid an entrance fee--but it was ALL donated, everything from the entrance fees to the food, raffle, etc! It was heart warming to see how 'into' it these grown men got. I mean look just a couple of the cars! How cute are they?!

Even watching was sooo fun! It looked like a real life version of Mario Kart, I told Steve next time I want to try, lol!

On a more serious note, always remember that although you are one person--you can make a huge difference, especially when partnered with the right networks...the result is just beyond words! and always take a moment to step back from your own life and think about someone else--being busy just isn't an excuse, we're all busy! Take a moment to think about when the last time you gave back was...

Happy Birthday, Pumpkin! ♥

Dear Lex,
Now you are two! It is hard to believe because the time has gone by so fast. You sure have a way of warming everyone's heart that comes your way, a feature that I know you will always have. And... we are so grateful for that--and grateful for you. You have brought some much warmth and love and meaning into our lives and I hope and pray that we have done the same for yours. When you read this you will be much older than two--so I will remind you of what you were like when we wrote this. You love Minnie...oh so much. But not as much as your big Sissy, you two are best friends! You love to spin and dance and....you love food. I think you got that from your mommy :) You love your crazy fur vest. You have such a huge personality for such a little girl and it truly beams like the sun. You are our little firecracker and I hope that never changes. Thank you for each and every smile you have brought to our faces. Can't wait to watch you grow even more...
